Such mirrors were common among the Pennsylvania Germans, according to Howard Pain, “The Heritage of Upper Canadian Furniture“. Toronto: Van Nostrand Reinhold, 1978, p. 510.
The top panel is a depiction of the Shoemaker House in Bridgeport Ontario rendered by reverse painting on glass.
