A fanciful interpretation of a common, time-honoured form, the 19th century work table.
The dovetailed pine table is painted as a wildly flamed maple, and topped by an unreal, bright blue “Tree of Life” (or Willow Tree — which the Pennsylvania Germans are credited with introducing to North America.)
Honourable mention, Artforms Juried Exhibition, Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery, 1989.
